click here for larger imageThorpe Edge Estate Idle was a large council house post war project, it was built on open land which would originally been farm land, many locals were not happy about the estate been built. The view on the photo is over Rockwell Lane Northwood Crescent from York House. On the open land St Johns Church was Built.
