Click here for larger imageThis particular photo was taken on the May Day celebrations in 1953/54. This is not a 60's or 70's photo, but i wanted to use it as it shows off the infants playground very well, also in the background you can see the old canteen, which was to be demolished some 20 years later. Also the photo shows a very good shot of some of the houses on the Swain House Estate, the houses more or less stayed the same until the council modernised them in the 1970's.
well remember myself the May Day celebrations, happy days, on the one in 1971, it poured it down!!
